Emily Koonse examines storytelling through motion pictures and still imagery, taking on highly collaborative and unique art-video projects with an emphasis on exploring personal subject matter and the natural world.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Emily has built a diverse portfolio that spans both fiction and non-fiction narratives. Editing credits include the feature film Apache Leap, shot on location on San Carlos Apache Reservation, Arizona with an indigenous cast and crew, and the award-winning documentary The Gathering Roots & Branches of Los Angeles Jazz, which premiered at the Maine International Film Festival in 2019. In addition to film work, Emily's fine art photography has been showcased in various exhibitions, around the United States and Europe. |
